MG & The Gas City 3
Hometown: GAS CITY, Indiana, US
In MG & the Gas City 3’s short time as a band they have become one of the hardest working bands yet, playing to sold out crowds and and showing everyone what Indiana has to offer to the ever rising rockabilly scene.
Since the release of Get in, Shut Up and Hold On in 2010, followed by the sensational video for the single “Rock Kept Rollin’” from the album, filmed by Andrew Quinn and shot at The Heorot in Muncie, In., they have had the honor of sharing the stage with many great bands such as, Rockabilly Hall of Famer Art Adams, Hillbilly Casino, The Krank Daddies, Hudson Hornet and Mo Foster’s The Next Big Thang.
All four members of MG & the Gas City 3 started with their roots in Indiana;
Starting with vocalist MG of Middletown and drummer Nathan Striedinger of Indianapolis both formerly of Grissel, a heavy metal band from Indianapolis. They decided to bring it back to what they knew, hard hitting tunes infused with punk, rock, and country music.
Joining them soon after is guitarist Gene Billy of Muncie, formerly of The Hell King Trio, bringing in blazing original riffs and pushing the genre envelope.
Last, but not definitely not least, Bassist Josh Fite also of Muncie came out of the woodwork from the Mike Martin Band, playing stand up bass and completing the chemistry of this band’s one of a kind sound.
MG & the Gas City 3 is currently working on their second studio album due in the Spring 2012.
Look for a MG & the Gas City 3 cameo and soundtrack in the movie “GILA!”, on the SYFY channel and theatrical release in the Summer of 2012.
“GILA!” directed by Jim Wynorski, of Chopping Mall (1986), Return of Swamp Thing (1989), is a remake of the 1950’s film “The Giant Gila Monster”.
