The ball & biscuit is a bar and lounge set amidst the cultural corridor of downtown Indianapolis’ Mass Ave neighborhood.

True to its eclectic surroundings, the biscuit has a vibe that is all at once vintage and modern, laid back and sophisticated. Our aim is for unassuming simplicity, but with attention to detail: From the 150-year-old quarter-sawn wood floor to the distressed leather chairs; to the exposed brick walls, tin ceiling and the tungsten-filament bulbs that diffuse light across the copper-top bar. The biscuit is a neighborhood bar at heart, a back-to-the-basics gathering place for downtown dwellers, workers and visitors.

The ball & biscuit’s menu features craft beers, boutique wines and unique cocktails that range from pre-Prohibition classics to original modern-day concoctions. The biscuit also offers bar fare that has more in common with a Lost Generation brasserie than your average sports bar’s fryer. And with no TVs, the biscuit is characterized by its choice of music and relaxed setting which, together with the smoke-free policy, create an atmosphere suited to the simple pleasures of exceptional food, drink and conversation.

We welcome you for post-work gatherings, late-night rendezvous and everything in between. The ball & biscuit is open 7 days a week from 4:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. (closed Sundays during football season).
