Tucked inside the historic Athenaeum is the spacious and modern Coat Check Coffee. The menu is crafted with the same care a mixologist takes with their cocktails, and the attentive staff makes this spot a hidden gem away from the bustle of Mass Ave. It's hip but approachable, making it a prime spot for connoisseurs and casual drinkers alike.

Provider is Coat Check's Instagrammable little sister. The plants, the neon, and the wonderfully painted walls from Flatland Kitchen are cute AF, but don't let it fool you — the coffee and long drinks both still pack a punch.

Kaffeine Coffee Co. is a shop for people who give a damn about the coffee they're drinking. Kaffeine was the first in Indy to make third-wave coffee, as well as the first to use the V60 drip coffee and Chemex pour-over systems, making them pioneers in a city whose coffee scene is already exploding. The shop is housed inside an old warehouse, making the ceilings high and the interior spacey.

Pick one up, head over to the stone bar, and feel free to chat with Patrick and Mike about that new song you can't get out of your head.

Near Eastside / 2219 E 10th Street
The small strip of shops across from the Burger King on East 10th Street is sprouting, with Rabble Coffee taking the lead. The space is DIY in its purest form, with no renovation budget set at all, and building virtually everything from scratch.

They focus on whole bean Arabica coffees from across the globe.
