It’s wedding season, mofos.
The arm workouts have begun. The flasks are in the engraving machine. The wedding party is sizing each other up on Instagram. All that’s left is the partying and the I-do-ing. Here’s our curated picks for great additions to your bachelor or bachelorette weekend.
Fletcher Place / 602 Virginia Ave
Here’s the insider tip: the closer you sit to the front of one of these, the harder you have to pedal. With that information in mind, park all your CrossFit-iest friends up front and have a leisurely sip of your bevvies in the back, and take the mighty power of the aux cable into your hands.
Broad Ripple / 6515 Carrollton Ave
Hmm, we see you ordered a “cute place to eat with the girls,” but all Cake Bake has is a floral, glittering sugar fantasy of your dreams. Will that be OK? You bet. There is perhaps no other shop that screams “host your bachelorette party/wedding shower here” quite as loudly.
Fountain Square / 1111 Prospect St
Studies show that standing on a balcony overlooking a city skyline with your wedding party and declaring it “your time, your city,” makes weddings 100x more awesome. This bar is famous both for the cocktails and the view, and opening is right around the corner as soon as the new roof is finished.
Monument Circle / 20 N Meridian St
Ballers and ballerettes are welcome at this basement bar that has a speakeasy-meets-power-suit vibe. For some reason, bachelor parties turn every straight guy into a cigar smoker, so if that’s you, at least take the party to the place that does lighting and cutting service right.
Christian Park / 4011 Southeastern Ave
There are strip club names, and then there is this hometown gem. You’ll find the most body diversity here, and we’d highly recommend you follow Ms. Haggard’s advice on how to be a good club patron. Bring lots of cash, be friendly, be polite, and you’ll be great.
Mass Ave / 922 Massachusetts Ave
The garden at Black Market is going to be in full leafy green bloom right about now, making it awesome for a garden party in the day or night. Chef Esteban Rosas has revamped their menu to be lighter and more Mediterranean, and it functions as a great starting line for a bar crawl down Mass Ave.
Fountain Square / Virginia Ave / Mass Ave
We’ve got to give a little love to our friends at the Cultural Trail, because these tours use one of our favorite pieces of urban planning to show you some of the best dining in the city. Every tour gets a lil sip of booze, and you can choose between several short walking tours and a longer biking tour.
Kennedy-King / 1660 Bellefontaine St
This distillery and bar’s industrial chic vibe and somewhat hidden location both make it feel cooler than an ice cold whiskey on the rocks. The scent of whiskey evaporating from the nearby barrels gives it a Kentucky Bourbon Trail feel without the road trip.
Mile Square / 10 W Georgia St
A new brand of comedy club has opened up downtown, and it’s bringing some pretty big names. If you’re already centering your night downtown, Helium has opened in one of the old anchor spots at Circle Center — an easy stumble from just about any downtown hotel.
SoBro / 1051 E 54th St
Chef Greg Hardesty is doing something truly different, and for gastronauts, this is the ultimate bachelor/ette luxury experience. The Beard-nominated chef will create a custom menu for a true chef’s table experience — the only one available in the city. Reservations are strictly required.
