The Local's List: Where Andrew Shoots Film

Local film enthusiast turned business owner, Andrew Hilt dives into his favorite places to shoot film around Indy.

For years, Andrew has carried a film camera, showcasing his love for film and finding beauty across Indiana. He more recently opened Drew's Film Lab, where he develops and scans film locally. This week, he takes over The Local's List to talk about some of his favorite places to shoot film.

Garfield Park

Get those vibrant macro color shots of some cool plant you can’t pronounce.

Downtown Noblesville (at night)

Grab a roll of your favorite high-speed film and take a little stroll around my local historic downtown! You’ll be surprised by what little gems you might find for a photo op.

On the ‘yak

Feeling risky? Grab that telephoto lens and hit the white river on a kayak. You’re sure to get some unique nature shots you otherwise wouldn’t get anywhere else!

Turkey Run

My favorite place to shoot some black-and-white. The lack of color really brings out all of the textures and character.

Indiana State Fair

The lights, the action, the people watching. The perfect place to bring your favorite film camera.
